My restless spirit
I define myself as a restless creative. My creativity takes me in many directions but most often I am driven by my current passions, or my drive to reflect on the current state of our society. The heart of my more recent work has centered on creating abstract art. This has resulted in expressions of color and light on canvas reflecting my interpretation of women’s spirit and femininity as well as a general freedom of expression.
2020 brought about a new restlessness that I have worked through in my latest series. I wanted to set aside everything that has been going on around us and find focus in the everyday gifts we experience. To reach a broader audience I decided to work in a more relatable style but not to completely abandon my abstract leanings. With this thought in mind, I chose to look for patterns in nature. Inspired by the simplicity and meditative quality of vertical line, I made this my focus for “Vertical Interlude”. It is my hope that the new work will bring joy and possibly even comfort to the viewer.
Please join me on Friday September 4th from 4-7PM at Tumalo Art Company for my opening of this soon to be released series of works.
